GS1 Australia National Product Catalogue country-of-origin labelling workshops

GS1 Australia, the country's barcode and National Product Catalogue provider (amongst other service offerings), is hosting country-of-origin labelling workshops for businesses that need help entering country-of-origin information. Workshops will be held in Melbourne and Sydney between April and May this year. Businesses with food products may find these workshops particularly useful, given the changes to country-of-origin food labelling that recently came into effect.

PIEFA Food & Fibre Conference 

The Primary Industries Education Foundation Australia (PIEFA) Food & Fibre Conference will be held in Canberra from 29 April-1 May this year. PIEFA is the leading industry body for agriculture, forestry and fisheries education. The event is aimed at industry and educators, is STEM-focused and cross-curricula, for years K-12.

The Australian Made Campaign has developed resources for teachers and students to help educate children on how products get from paddock to plate, factory to family and sea to skillet. These resources are currently featured on PIEFA's Primezone.edu.au website. Australian Made Campaign Chief Executive, Ian Harrison, will also be addressing the conference on Day 1 of the event.

National Manufacturing Week

National Manufactuing Week will be held in Sydney from 9-11 May this year, and the Australian Made Campaign is encouraging all manufacturing and associated industry professionals to visit and discover the broad range of quality, inventive, locally-made products on offer.

Australian Made Campaign Chief Executive, Ian Harrison, will be addressing the conference on Day 1 of the event, to educate the industry on the benefits of country-of-origin branding and provide an update on the Australian Made Campaign's current initiatives.

NextGen in Business - are you ready for five generations in the workplace?

The Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry's event series NextGen in Business will be taking place in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne from 22-24 May 2018. It is aimed at arming organisations with first mover advantages when dealing with the new demographic reality of five generations in the workplace. Featuring two international speakers and a number of Australian thought leaders, these events aim to arm organisations with information on how to balance leadership, diversity and flexibility, attract and retain the best people and maximise productivity and innovation in the context of a new demographic reality.

Retail Global

Retail Global will be held in Gold Coast from 23-25 May this year, and the Australian Made Campaign is encouraging all growers and manufacturers with an interest in global e-commerce to attend. The conference is aimed at helping retailers sell more online.

Australian Made Campaign Deputy Chief Executive, Ben Lazzaro, will be addressing the conference on Day 2 of the event on the benefits of branding products as Australian in export markets.
