New South Wales has won the national Australian Made Red Energy Foundation Cup after the finals took place at Kooyong Lawn Tennis Centre in Victoria this month.

The awards were presented on court at the Kooyong Lawn Tennis Club by Australian Made Campaign Chief Executive Ben Lazzaro, Red Energy Manager – Marketing Communications Ben Hon and tennis legend Judy Dalton.

The winning team was comprised of:

  • Jeorge Collins , Mt Rankin NSW
  • Vitorio Sardinha, Gunnedah NSW
  • Ella Brown, Thurgoona NSW
  • Amelia Johnson, Banora Point NSW

The second place team consisted of:

  • Nicolas Tremblay, Millner NT
  • Angus Cameron, Katherine NT
  • Tegan Genockey, Virginia NT
  • Tumi Kgosiemang, Wanguri NT

The best and fairest awards went to Tegan Genockey (NT) who received the 2019 Judy Dalton medal and Jeorge Collins (NSW) who received the John Fitzgerald medal.

Tegan and Jeorge also received a $1000 cheque, presented by the Australian Made Campaign, Red Energy and the Fed Cup Foundation, to assist with their tennis development.

The Australian Made Red Energy Foundation Cup gives children aged 13 and under from across rural and regional Australia the opportunity to participate in competitive tennis at the highest level.

The tournament forms part of the Australian Made Summer of Tennis, an initiative of the Australian Made Campaign.

“The Australian Made Summer of Tennis celebrates local talent – and Australia has a lot to be proud of,” Australian Made Campaign Chief Executive, Ben Lazzaro, said.

 “We produce some of the best quality products in the world, and our home-grown athletes are no exception.”
