The offset circles on both sides of the trivet are done on a lathe by hand and with an expert eye earned through thousands of hours of woodturning. The combined effect of the lattice pattern is a trivet that dissipates heat very efficiently and looks elegant enough for any table setting. They can be used under teapots, coffee pots, casserole dishes and are useful in the kitchen if you need to protect your bench from a hot dish or frypan. Available in either Blackwood or Sassafras, each trivet is signed by the maker and has its timber stated unobtrusively on the side, making these excellent gifts for sending overseas or for occasions that demand an Australian-made gift. To care for your trivet, simply wipe over with a damp cloth and if necessary restore shine with good furniture oil.
