It was founded in late 2017 by self - taught artist Jo McCubbing. What started as an artistic venture and a career change from teaching is now developing into a small artisan business. It is based in Kondinin, Western Australia, one of the towns en route to Wave Rock.
Jo's collection of designs is named Spinel after one of the August birth stones. This precious gem stone can be found in a range of dazzling colours from deep reds, pinks, greens, black and blues. Therefore it represents the vibrant, courageous, sophisticated and individual designs created at Jo Mc Designs.
Jo's love of nature, plants, Australian landscapes and environmental patterns are reflected in her vibrant paintings and designs. Using a variety of mediums such as acrylics, water colours, pencils, oil pastels & inks, the designs are created on paper or canvas then photographed and sent as a digital file to be printed onto fabrics.
The latest range of silk designs are ethically printed on mulberry silk chiffon, then manufactured into garments in Western Australia.
