Australian Made Campaign Ltd (AMCL) held its annual general meeting (AGM) in Canberra on 27 November at which two members of its Board of Directors were re-elected.
Re-elected Directors were James Pearson and Nicki Anderson.
Standing down from the Board were Robert Hutchinson and Richard Holyman.
AMCL's national Board consists of up to ten Directors, elected by the organisation’s 11 Governing Members – the Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and its network of State and Territory Chambers, and the National Farmers’ Federation.
The board members following the AGM are:
- Glenn Cooper AM (Chairman), Chairman, Coopers Brewery Ltd
- Allyn Beard (Deputy Chairman), Director, A.H. Beard Pty Ltd
- Neil Summerson AM (Treasurer), Company Director and former Chairman, Bank of Queensland
- Nicki Anderson, Company Director (ASX, Private Family, Not for Profit)
- Kate Carnell AO, Australian Small Business and Family Enterprise Ombudsman
- James Pearson, CEO, Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry
- Fiona Simson, President, National Farmers Federation.
Allyn Beard, speaking on behalf of Chairman Glenn Cooper, thanked the Directors, AMCL's Patron Robert Gerard AO and AMCL’s Governing Members for their continued support, and acknowledged Robert Hutchinson’s 15-year contribution to the Board.
The Chairman announced the appointment of former Australian Made Board member and Chairman, David Gray AM as an official Australian Made Ambassador, following his retirement from the Board last year after 19 years of service. His ongoing commitment to local manufacturing and his support of Australian Made will make him an ideal representative of AMCL.
The Chairman expressed his belief that 2019/20 will be an exciting and eventful year for the Campaign. Nearly 3000 businesses are now using the Australian Made, Australian Grown logo on more than 20,000 products sold in Australia and around the world.
