The grinding mechanism is Danish and has a 10-year guarantee, while the design makes for easy handling and stability as well as beauty. These mills are hand turned and care has been taken so that the best possible use of this increasingly rare timber is achieved. Finished with light burnishing oil, the pepper mill will develop its own patina from use over the years, as with all wood that is handled continually. Tasmanian Blackheart Sassafras the timber used in these mills, has highly contrasting dark and light patterns caused by a fungus that is a naturally occurring phenomenon but which in no way affects the strength of the wood, making this pepper mill an all-round winner.
